The Sr. Corporate Counsel, Government Investigations & Litigation is a core member of T-Mobile’s legal organization, working on cutting-edge business and legal issues and designing case strategy to advance T-Mobile’s Un-carrier promise. This senior attorney will have significant responsibility for efficiently managing internal and regulatory investigations, as well as commercial litigation, with a particular focus on matters relating to cybersecurity, IOT and network security, and consumer privacy. This attorney will play a leading role on cross-functional teams with colleagues across T-Mobile’s legal and government affairs teams and will interact with leaders from the legal department and many business teams to deliver sound, actionable, and timely strategic and legal advice in the handling of legal and regulatory proceedings.
What you’ll do in your role.
This role will assume the following responsibilities, again with a specific focus on matters relating to cybersecurity, IoT and network security, and consumer privacy, along with a variety of other commercial and consumer-oriented litigation.
Responsible for case management, including selection and oversight of outside counsel, setting case strategies, and setting and managing case budgets.
Lead the Company’s response to state and federal regulatory inquiries, as well as any resulting litigation.
Manage litigation proceedings and filings (including conducting internal fact investigation, preparing and filing pleadings with outside counsel, handling discovery, reviewing legal briefs, and preparing cases for trial and/or settlement).
Advise internal clients, including senior leaders, on legal and business risks.
Partner with key business leaders and legal vendors to align legal strategy with the business goals and objectives.
Oversee privileged investigations relating to cyber and data security incidents.
Monitor new developments and emerging risks in cybersecurity, privacy, and consumer protection law and assess and communicate related legal risks.
The experience you’ll bring.
J.D. or equivalent from an accredited law school, and an active member in good standing of a relevant state bar.
Minimum of 7 years’ relevant experience litigating complex, large-scale commercial and consumer litigation and/or managing state and federal regulatory investigations and litigation.
Preference for candidates with substantial experience and expertise in the areas of cybersecurity and privacy and government investigations.
Preference for candidates with large law firm and in-house counsel experience.
Exceptional verbal and written communication skills, and customer-oriented interpersonal skills.
Excellent legal, business, and practical judgment.
