								<description>Houston, Texas,  JEELANI LAW FIRM is actively seeking a seasoned  Associate Immigration Attorney with 3+ years of  removal defense experience to join our dynamic team in a full-time capacity, with standard working hours from 9 am to 6 pm. 
 With offices and attorneys across the U.S., we are committed to a structured hybrid work environment designed to support productivity and accountability while maintaining flexibility where appropriate. This hybrid work is tailored to meet both the firm&#8217;s and the individual&#8217;s needs, with the understanding that regular attendance at removal hearings, interviews, meetings with firm management, and client meetings as required is integral to the role, irrespective of the work location.  The position REQUIRES traveling to different states to cover removal and USCIS hearings.

This role requires a high level of ownership, responsiveness, and attention to detail. Attorneys are expected to proactively manage deadlines, communicate promptly with clients and internal teams, and independently drive cases forward without constant supervision. 
 We are looking for candidates with a strong background in removal defense. The role demands: 
 
 A minimum of 3+ years experience in handling Removal Defense/Deportation Cases including attending Bond Hearings, Master Hearings, and Individual Hearings 
 A minimum of 3+ years experience in preparing and filing Adjustment of Status and other family-based applications/petitions 
 Exceptional communication skills for drafting documents and emails free of grammatical errors 
 Experience with affidavits of support filings, asylum cases, and hardship waivers 
 Proficiency in drafting legal memoranda and affidavits for family-based cases and hardship waivers 
 Effective communication with EOIR, USCIS, DOS, and clients on immigration matters 
 Familiarity with handling notifications, RFE&#8217;s, NOID&#8217;s, and Appeals with the AAO and BIA 
 Strong organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple active cases simultaneously while meeting strict deadlines 
 Demonstrated ability to respond to client and team communications in a timely and professional manner 
 Ability to work independently while maintaining consistent communication with firm leadership and support staff 
 
 Additional beneficial qualifications (not replacing the above essential requirements) include: 
 
 Experience with case management software such as Docketwise or INSZoom. 
 
 The annual compensation range for this position is $110,000 to $140,000, commensurate with experience and qualifications. Additionally, annual considerations for raises/promotion shall be provided based on an annual performance review of the attorney.
