The Role
You’ll manage an active caseload from intake to resolution, with mentorship and direct client contact. Work will include a mix of:
Civil litigation (motions, discovery, depositions, hearings; trial exposure as appropriate)
Business and real-estate transactions (entity work, contracts, closings)
Estate planning and probate administration
What You’ll Do
Advise clients and develop case strategies with partners
Draft pleadings, motions, briefs, contracts, and correspondence
Handle discovery, depositions, negotiations, and court appearances
Manage deadlines, budgets, and client communications
Contribute to business development and community engagement
What We’re Looking For
3-4 years of post-JD legal experience (law firm or clerkship)
Iowa bar admission or eligibility/willingness to obtain Iowa licensure promptly (exam, reciprocity, or UBE transfer)
Solid writing, research, and oral advocacy skills
Comfort managing matters with appropriate supervision
High integrity, initiative, and a client-service mindset
Bonus: experience in any of the following: civil litigation, real estate, business transactions, probate/estate planning, and municipal law.
