McAnany, Van Cleave & Phillips, P.A. (MVP Law) is looking for an attorney to join our Des Moines, IA office to practice primarily in workers' compensation defense and help us meet the needs of our growing practice. With a physical office space in Des Moines and the technology and tools to maintain a remote practice, this position offers attorneys the flexibility of a hybrid work arrangement. We are looking for curious, intelligent, and creative attorneys to join our firm and be part of our fast-paced and rewarding environment as we continue to redefine the law firm experience and forge our own path to the meet the needs of our clients and employees, as we have been doing since 1901. While we are seeking an attorney for a traditional associate position, alternative work arrangement options can be considered including, full-time attorney, part-time attorney, or of counsel.

Duties/Responsibilities

• Manage a workers' compensation defense caseload with independence
• Successfully try cases, conduct depositions and mediations
• Effectively establish, build, and maintain relationships with all assigned clients
• Participate in marketing and business development opportunities within the firm
• Engage in a collaborative team atmosphere
• Utilize available technology to manage clients effectively and efficiently within a paperless work environment

Qualifications

• Licensed and in good standing in Iowa
• Licensed in multiple states is desired but not necessary
• Minimum two years of relevant experience
• Excellent written and oral communication skills
• Attention to detail
• Ability to multi-task in a fast-paced environment
• Strong organizational and time management skills
• Collaborative and committed to working as part of a team
