Outten & Golden LLP seeks a leader who will be responsible for managing the firm’s litigation function, including overseeing the hiring, training, and development of litigation support staff, helping to select and implement new systems, managing filings, and developing the firm’s document processing department. This person must work well in a fast-paced litigation environment, interfacing with lawyers, serving as the lead manager overseeing non-lawyer litigation staff on all litigation teams, working with administrative staff on personnel management and policy synthesis, and serving as the firm’s representative with outside vendors.

The firm utilizes Windows 7, Office 2010, Internet Explorer and Chrome. Law firm specific packages include FileSite (iManage) for document management, Time Matters for contact management and PCLaw Pro for billing and accounting.
The ideal candidate will have substantial experience managing a diverse staff. In addition, the Litigation Manager must have strategic vision, the ability to design and implement processes, and the ability to collaborate with diverse constituents including partners, associates, administrative management, administrative staff, and litigation staff.
To run this large, diverse team, the Litigation Manager must have great enthusiasm, excellent leadership and management skills, strong oral and written communication skills, integrity, organizational skills, detail orientation, facility with technological solutions, and follow-through.
Duties and Responsibilities
This manager will be responsible for the following areas:
- Creation and organization of the litigation department (including hiring of document processors, paralegals, and other staff as needed)
- Hiring, training, and supervising litigation team members in all litigation functions (including trial preparation)
- Development and improvement of firm best practices, templates, and policies for litigation functions (e.g., common filings, subpoena service, deposition preparation, calendaring, docket control, etc.)
- Establishing and maintaining document management systems and policies
- Leveraging technology (e.g., litigation databases, calendaring systems, document templates, etc.) (including possible selection and implementation of software)
Depending on experience. Eligible for yearly salary review and year-end holiday bonus.
